Transforming power, that which can change the identity from one thing into another. This is the life changing power that is referenced in Romans 12:2 where it talks about being not conformed to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds. A spiritual transformation is taking place in our lives as a Christian which begins when we invite Jesus into our lives as our Lord and Savior (2 Corinthians 5:17) and continue to be transformed into the likeness of Christ through faith and love, and by the prompting of the indwelling Holy Spirit.
Hebrews: Chapter Two
"We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away." Hebrews 2:1
"how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation?" Hebrews 2:3
"But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower that the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone." Hebrews 2:9
"In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffer-
ing." Hebrews 2:10
"Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same
family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers." Hebrews 2:11
"Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death-that is, the devil, and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death." Hebrews 2:14-15
"For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people." Hebrews 2:17
"Because he himself suffered when we was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted." Hebrews 2:18
Keys verses for me:
"Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same
family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers." Hebrews 2:11
"Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death-that is, the devil, and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death." Hebrews 2:14-15
I came to a profound understanding in my Christian walk when I discovered and embraced the truth that when Jesus died on the cross, he imputed his righteousness upon us, making us holy to the heavenly Father, while taking upon himself our unrighteousness. If Christ, by faith, has made us holy, then what can make us unholy, again? Nothing! This is the incredible thing about God's grace through his love- Jesus did everything for us on the cross to reconcile our relationship with God.
Another thing that Jesus did through his death on the cross was to take away my fear of dying. Looking back at Day 2 of my blogs, "The Temporary Nature of Life," you will find that I had a great fear of dying from the time I was eight years old. Our faith, placed in Jesus, and the hope of God's kingdom to come, brings peace to one's soul in the midst of all the changing circumstances that take place around us- like the life-changing effects of the Coronavirus! To rest in the loving acceptance and care of an eternal heavenly Father brings light and comfort to our darkened world. Hallelujah, Jesus has risen! Hallelujah, he has risen, indeed! Just think what life would be like if there was no Christ!
There may be a tendency to look at verse ten and believe that Jesus became perfect through his suffering. While this may appear as a conflict, it is not. We know from so many other scriptures in the bible that Jesus was already perfect. So, how does this verse makes sense. It makes sense when we remember how Jesus was tempted several times while he was in the wilderness. In spite of the fact he was perfect, he also had the ability to choose whether or not to sin. Rejecting the temptations maintained his perfection. In the same way, being tempted through his suffering created another challenge for Jesus: to forego his being an atoning sacrifice and call down angels to save him.
"Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?
But, again, Jesus resisted. Salvation was brought into being by Jesus' love and obedience.

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ," Romans 5:1
In Christ, live as if you have already been made holy in God's sight, because you have been!
In his love, see you tomorrow....
