Day 78 "Lord, I Want To Be Like You!"

Love overflowed in my heart as I came to understand God's love for me and saw the essence of that love cascading my way like a beautiful waterfall through the life of Jesus Christ. In the process, I wrote a song entitled, "I Want To Be Like You, Lord!" I share this song with you below:

Verse Two: See the man on his knees, the people call the leper

Crying out to you to make him clean

When you knelt by his side and cried

"Be clean again!" he rose clean with joy inside

Oh, Lord, I want to be like you.

Verse Three: And then, I saw the look of love in your eyes

Looking down from the cross on which you would die

"Father forgive them, they know not what they do,"

They overheard you as they put those nails through you

Oh, Lord, I want to be like you.

True obedience is not wrought by coercion or manipulation. One's heart is won over by the deeds and attitude exemplified by one's leader, trust transpires, and obedience becomes a natural desired overflow.
