We have reached the last chapter of Ephesians. Paul has a few closing remarks in chapter six, including the armor of God to fight a good spiritual battle.
Chapter Six:
:1 "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right."
The natural order is for the parent to be the parent and the child to be
the child. Someone once remarked, let a child be fully a child so that when the child grows up, the child will become fully an adult. It is the responsibility of parents to lead, guide, teach, and love their children. It is within such safety and assurance that a child comes to understand the proper notion of authority.
:4 "Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."
As like Christ, who submitted his authority to the Heavenly Father, so, too, do we as fathers find it beneficial to submit ourselves to the Heavenly Father for guidance and love. In doing so, one can find the purest of motivations in the raising up of a child: that of love.
:10 "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power."
Like a soldier seeking guidance, direction and inspiration from one's commander on the battlefield, so does the Christian believer seek guidance and assurance. Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, has been given all authority both here on Earth and in heaven. There is a certain level of peace and inner joy to
know that in the midst of everything that we experience here on Earth, that Christ is still in control of all of it. And love is the controlling factor.
:11-12 "Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's
schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
God has not left us alone here on Earth to defend and fend for ourselves. Instead, he has given us an arsenal of spiritual weapons to fight a spiritual battle against a spiritual adversary.
:13 "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes,
you will be able to stand your ground,"
;14 "Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with
the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with
the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this,
take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming
arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the
Spirit, which is the word of God."
It is important not to look with a worldly perspective when attempting to
fight a spiritual battle. First of all, the spiritual battle has already been won by Christ upon the cross. This is the power of faith. We, as believers, have already
been spiritual blessing.
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ." Ephesians 1:3
In the midst of whatever you are doing here on Earth, to understand that there
is a spiritual world that coexists with our own physical world is paramount in
the establishment of a healthy mindset that sees everything here as temporary
and everything about God's kingdom as eternal. Though the hardships may rise and fall for us here on Earth, our hope and faith is stabilize by our belief in Christ and his resurrection from the dead. The Bible reveals to us the nature
of God and why Christ came to die on the cross. The power and ability by which we draw our strengths as believers is found in the depth of God's love for us. If God be for us, who can be against us? Through whatever struggle your life may be facing today, take heart. For Paul, through the inspiration and revelation of the Holy Spirit within him, give us understanding of God through
the gospel of Jesus Christ. Stand firm, then, and know that everything around you is temporary. All will pass. But whoever does the will of the Father will live forever. And what is God's will? To love.

See A Victory (Elevation Worship)
The weapon may be formed but it won't prosper When the darkness falls it won't prevail Cause the God I serve knows only how to triumph My God will never fail My God will never fail I'm gonna see a victory I'm gonna see a victory For the battle belongs to You Lord I'm gonna see a victory I'm gonna see a victory For the battle belongs to You Lord There's power in the mighty name of Jesus Every war He wages He will win I'm not backing down from any giant I know how this story ends I know how this story ends I'm gonna see a victory I'm gonna see a victory For the battle belongs to You Lord I'm gonna see a victory I'm gonna see a victory For the battle belongs to You Lord You take what the enemy meant for evil And You turn it for good You turn it for good You take what…
Know that your spiritual battle has already been won in Christ. It is complete and finished. Live as who you are, a child of God-redeemed and loved!
In his love, see you tomorrow...
