The musical group Hillsong United said it well in their song, Oceans. I have highlighted below a few of the lyrics for you to ponder and the video below for you to watch.
"You called me out upon the waters." Relationships are built and forged on trust. And trust is predicated on love. The more we comprehend and experience love, the greater our propensity to trust.
"the great unknown where my feet may fail." And so it is with stepping out upon the waters, into our limited understanding, our weaknesses which shower down upon us doubts concerning our abilities, are tempered by the understanding of God's love for us and his ability to work out all things for good for those who love him.
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
"My soul will rest in your embrace, For I am yours and you are mine." There is infinite nurturing to the human soul to know that one will not be forsaken or left alone by someone else-especially if it is God.
"Never will I leave you. Never will I forsake you." Hebrews 13:5
"Your grace abounds in deepest waters." Not just anywhere, but even in the deepest of waters, the deepest of calamities and failures, God's grace reaches down and meets me where I am.
"But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me." 2 Corinthians 12:9
"Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me." In the depth of my darkest fears, I know that God's unconditional love for me takes away all fear. It is only when I rest in the quietness of
total acceptance do I discover and find the absence of fear in my mind and soul.
"Perfect love casts out all fear." 1 John 4:18
"Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders." Can there be anything more exciting than to have God, the creator of the universe, desire to have his Spirit live in us and want to move through us towards loving others?
If you believe that God sent Jesus to die for your sins, you have missed the best part
of the story and your spiritual walk will probably stagnate to the degree that you have already procured your ticket for getting out of hell. What more is there? On the other hand, if you believe that God sent his Son to reconcile us back into an intimate relationship with him, then your life becomes an ever-growing closer story of intimacy with God and growing more and more in love with him and growing more in the ability to trust God's ways to be your ways for your life as you move onward down the river of life. It truly becomes a never ending story of love, mercy, grace and forgiveness. And God allows us to play the leading role in our life's story. Like a father with his children, what joy we most likely bring to God when we reach the point of trusting him and wanting to spend time with him.
"In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds
and praise your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16
My father in heaven. That has a good ring to it!

Let the waves of God's endless love move you out upon the ocean to trust
him more.
In his love, see you tomorrow...
