Day 158 "Jesus Makes It Easy!"

We are the ones making it difficult to come to God.
Most of what we do here on Earth is performance orientated. Think about it. Everything you do at work. All that you do through your education. Much of what we do and how we do it has a way of sifting down into our self esteem, who we view ourselves to be. We seem to be constantly aware and sensitive to how others perceive us and how we are accepted by them.
What if our acceptance in life is done on a basis which is not tied or tethered to performance, not according to how we look or how popular we are? What if there is a love that we can experience that is unconditional in its very nature? Meaning, there is nothing on our part needed to be done to activate this love? Would you want it? Would you seek it out? How would such a love affect and change your life if you could find it?
In Christ, such a love is not only discoverable, but becomes even more identifiable and becomes a source of peace and hope as we uncover that it has been there the whole time. Jesus' disciple had asked Jesus, the one who had been speaking of this love from God, the heavenly father, "Just show us the father and we will believe." And Jesus responded,
"Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us
the Father’? John 14:9
And elsewhere Jesus said,
"No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known." John 1:18
"I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can only do what he
sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does." John 5:19
As you read the Bible about God and Jesus, you will discover that Jesus was sent by God to redeem us back into a relationship with a holy and just God, full of mercy, love, and grace.
Done away with performance, a new covenant between man and his creator was being forged through Jesus.
"But now a righteousness from God, apart from the law, has been made known."
Romans 3:21
"This righteousness from God comes though faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe."
Romans 3:22
"and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Jesus
Christ. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood." Romans 3:24-25
"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the
world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that
he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." 1 John 4:9-10
"He set aside the first to establish the second. And by that will, we have been made
holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." Hebrews 10:10
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes
in him may have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn
the world, but to save the world through him." John 3:16-17
How much does God love us? He watched his one and only Son die upon a cross by the very hands amongst those who God sent his son to redeem. It was Jesus, himself, who beseeched his Father with a prayer from the cross, "
"Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.'”
Luke 23:34
God loves you unconditonally, without merit. You didn't earn or deserve it. That is who God is. And what a joy that he is our creator. We were made to have fellowship with him and with one another. When we find discord and dissension among one another, it isn't because God isn't there. We have simply turned away from God and love and desired to serve self instead.
Jesus made it incredibly easy! Our relationship with God through Christ is nothing more or less than faith. He did it all! Read it for yourself and discover where true life can be found.
"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through me.'" John 14:6

Sometimes, the most profound life changing truths are simple in their essence.
Jesus changed it all. It is not necessary, in fact it is impossible, to add anything on our part
to earn or to prevent us from losing God's love for us.
In his love, see you tomorrow...
