Day 124 "Let The Good Times Roll"

ree

With the stock market surging back towards its mark before the pandemic, one would never think that there were still 40 million Americans unemployed, social unrest, protesting, and rioting going on around the country. And yet, the market continues to move upward. The market pundits would say that the markets are looking 6 months down the road, past all the unemployment and expect things to return to normal and continue upward from there.

So, here's today question: If the stock market were to provide you with all the money that you would ever need in this life, how would that still affect your eternity? You

couldn't buy it if you could. You couldn't control it. The whole consideration of the spiritual realm is apart and differs from the physical world in which we live. The good news for most of us is that it cost us nothing to purchase it. Is a gift. That's right. By faith, we as Christians believe that Christ's death on the cross paid the penalty for our sins which separates us from our creator- a just and holy God. By faith, through Christ our relationship with God is restored and our new spiritual identity is being a child of God and part of God's family.

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through

me." John 14:6

It puts a different spin on life when you realize what money can't buy everything. Although many have tried to buy it, money can't buy happiness. So, since money can't purchase eternity for you, it doesn't matter in the long run what the stock market does-go up, go down, stay the same. God's love for you remains the same: unconditional and accepting, just as you are. Christ died for us to provide for us what we couldn't provide for ourselves.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

God is the center of our peace and joy. Not the stock market. And that's a great thing to know!

In his love, see you tomorrow...
