Day 122 "Harnessing The Power of Love"

ree

Since 1935, the Hoover Dam has provided hydroelectric power and water for millions of people in Arizona, Nevada, and California. Not only that, but the Hoover Dam also made possible Lake Mead which is one of the largest water reservoir in the country and a wonderful recreational area for families. Suffice it to say, that harnessing of the water flow of the Colorado River has provided significant benefits to those surrounding its presence.

Likewise, consider how the people around you benefit from your presence. We all know that life is full of up's and down's. But imagine smoothing out that process. No, we can't control many of the events that occur around us. But, we can control our emotions and the

the way we look at the things around us. Tempered by love, it always seeks, first, the best interest of those around us.

"be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interest, but also to the interest of others." Philippians 2:2-4

Understanding God's unconditional love and acceptance for our lives severs the tether of our dependence we have towards one another for seeking out our self-esteem and identity. In our own human nature, we rely heavily upon what others think of us. Being set free from such attachments allows us to act without misguided motivations that places our own interest over the interest of others. In fact, love does the opposite. It purifies our motives

from such dependence on others and places it where it was created to be- on God's love for us. In addition, God's presence steers our mindset in the direction of things that are greater than all the things we behold in this world. Knowing that there are realities outside of our physical world, a world in which we can verify by what we see and touch, we can be aware of our spiritual existence simultaneously coexisting at the same time. The resurrection of Jesus Christ proves that for us. Since there is a spiritual world that exists, we can derive our peace and joy in the fact that we are just sojourners passing through this physical existence on our way to our spiritual home. God's love and acceptance of us is only a token of the life ahead that God has planned for us.

"What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has

conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him—"

1 Corinthians 2:9

Everyone of us is in the same boat. Why, then, should we not look at one another as our brothers and sisters. Love breeds inclusion and acceptance. Fear breeds separation and rejection.

"Perfect love casts out all fear." 1 John 4:18

When we encounter a love that loves perfectly, we are set free to become our best selves. God is the only one who loves perfectly. But when God's love enters our lives, it changes us from the inside outward and transforms our thinking and helps us to look for the best in others.

"We love because He first loved us." 1 John 4:19

Do you want to see your life transformed into becoming the best person you can be? Get to know God's love for you! Once discovered, you will be able to help put out the worldly fires caused by fear and prejudices. Free to be yourself. Free to seeing the best in others. Love is truly a life changing experience. Harness it and let it help change the world around you through you, one person at a time.

"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Romans 8:37

When you look at life through the lenses of eternity, the ups and downs of this life take on a whole new meaning and understanding. The best way to live life is in the moment-each and every moment. The highest level of living in the moment is through the heightened awareness and vigilance that you are currently living that moment in an attitude of love.

"For Christ's love compels us." 2 Corinthians 5:14

May you come to see the world as God does- in love!

In his love, see you tomorrow...

"Carpe Momentum in Love" (Seize the moment in love)
