Book of Hebrews Study (Next 13 Days)

For the next 13 days, we will track through the book of Hebrews. For each chapter I will highlight particular verses that mean something of importance to me, not meaning that you can't find verses in the chapters that especially speak to you, and make up a chapter title that helps me remember the content of that particular chapter. I encourage you to do the same. This walk through of Hebrews will be in the same format as I used going through the book of Romans. Whereas Romans focused particularly on grace and faith, I believe that you will see that in Hebrews, particular attention is paid to who Jesus Christ is and the ushering in of a new covenant between God and man through Christ that surpasses the first covenant- which was based on law and our performance- and replaced it with this second covenant-which is based on grace and faith. As Romans stated:

"So, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God." Romans 7:4

And the Apostle Paul continues to press this issue further in Galatians:

"know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus

Christ." Galatians 2:16

"So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in

Christ and not be observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be

justified." Galatians 2:16

"Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because the righteous will live by

faith." Galatians 3:11

The three books of the bible that have had the most profound affect on my walk as a Christian have been Romans, Galatians, and Hebrews. I hope you, too, will find many blessings awaiting you as we let the Holy Spirit who is inside us (we as believing Christians)

illuminate Hebrews and allow the words to penetrate and transform our hearts. So, let's begin our journey.
